TSC2 Help Desk includes a free network workstation audit utility that gathers information from networked computers for import into the TSC2 Help Desk asset database.
The audit tool is installed on a networked drive (share) and is run from the network login script. When run, the auditing tool gathers information from the networked computers and stores it on the network drive (share). The audit information can be easily imported into TSC2 Help Desk.
The audit tool gathers the following information:
- BIOS Service Tag
- Computer Name
- Make and Model
- Operating System
- Processor Type and Speed
- Amount of Memory
- Video Adapter Type
- Hard Drive Letter and Size
- CDROM Drive Letter
- Monitor Type
- Network Adapter Type
- IP Address
To audit Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 computers you must first install Microsoft’s Windows Management Instrumentation.
